Mr. Peanut will return to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2026 as Planters marks its 120th anniversary and the character’s 110th birthday.
The new float will trace Mr. Peanut’s evolution, from the design submitted by a 14-year-old boy in 1916 to the character’s current look.
A Ferris wheel will display the different versions, while peanut-shaped confetti will burst from the top hat above Mr. Peanut.
It will be the character’s first appearance in the parade since 2016, when his “dab dance” went viral.
Planters is also running a sweepstakes for a chance to attend the parade. The prize includes travel to New York City, hotel accommodations and up to five grandstand tickets. Entries are open through Oct. 22.
The 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is scheduled for Nov. 26. NBC and Peacock will carry the parade beginning at 8:30 a.m. in all time zones.
