WQED is giving viewers a chance to spend Labor Day with Rick Sebak and some of his most beloved stories from Pittsburgh and across Pennsylvania.

  • 11 a.m. — A Hot Dog Program
  • Noon — Sandwiches That You Will Like
  • 1 p.m. — An Ice Cream Show
  • 2 p.m. — Kennywood Memories
  • 3 p.m. — Pennsylvania Diners and Other Roadside Restaurants
  • 4 p.m. — Pennsylvania Road Show

And, no, there’s no mention of Christmas. But Rick did produce the “Happy Holidays in Pittsburgh” documentary detailing the many cultural celebrations that take place in November, December and early January across Western Pennsylvania. The show features Light Up Night, Kaufmann’s windows, the Strip District and many other celebrations.

In celebration of Rick’s 50 years of public broadcasting, WQED celebrated the “Summer of Sebak,” which included his shows running throughout the summer, grand marshal of a Fall Fantasy parade at Kennywood and some other events.
