The 2025 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting is set for Wednesday, Dec. 3.

The annual tradition dates to 1931. Read five facts about the annual tree lighting.

This year’s tree is a 75-foot-tall Norway Spruce and is about 75 years old.

The tree hails from upstate New York — just outside of Albany.

It weighs a whopping 11 tons (!!!) and is 45 feet in diameter.

There are 50,000 multicolored lights around the tree.

And, at the top, there is a 900-pound Swarovski star. Wowza!

How to watch the Rockefeller Center Tree lighting

The tree lighting will air live on NBC and Peacock from 8 to 10 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
