There are holiday commercials we love and expect to see (Eat’n Park tree, M&Ms and Folgers coffee). And then there are Christmas commercials we never want to see again.
I’ve fallen for the post office’s “Home for the Holidays” commercial. There is some discussion online as to whether the song used is by Perry Como. I tweeted the post office, but haven’t heard from them.
Still, though, it’s a quick but very sentimental commercial.
Gap, which has struggled in recent years amid fast fashion and the decline of shopping malls, is pulling at the heartstrings with its new ad. The spot takes people of a certain age (i.e. Boomers, GenXers and Millennials) back to their childhood days of that iconic Gap hoodie always being there.
The commercial honestly made me consider going to get a Gap hoodie. I’m not sure if the hoodies still are this way, but I remember them being incredibly soft and comfortable. And, because of that, always part of any milestone of my childhood and teen years.
I can’t find a video, but Coca-Cola’s polar bear commercial once again nails it for adorable!
And then there’s Pepsi. This whole thing should wind up on Santa’s “Naughty List” because I do not know what they were thinking.
