About

Ho! Ho! Ho!

A jolly welcome to you, fellow holiday season enthusiasts. Welcome to It’s Christmas 365, where the holiday season is celebrated every day of the year.

The idea for this site is a simple take on Buddy the Elf. For Buddy, the best way to spread holiday is cheer by singing loud for all to hear. And for this site, the best way to spread holiday cheer is by sharing for all to experience!

And, while this site is based in Pittsburgh (and therefore will have a lot of Western Pennsylvania events and such), the love of the holiday season knows no boundaries (yes, even in Philadelphia).

Who’s behind It’s Christmas 365?

It’s Christmas 365 was created by Bobby Cherry, a long-time journalist who worked for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and Hearst Television. During his career at the Trib, Bobby connected with local communities, hearing from residents, business owners and organization leaders to better understand the neighborhoods people call home.

After his time at the Trib, he led content teams at Hearst Television and a San Francisco-based news/tech startup. Through his journalism work, Bobby earned numerous awards, including Golden Quill Awards, Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association and the Society of Professional Journalists.

He eventually left journalism and now works in marketing.

Bobby’s passion for storytelling extends beyond his career—he’s been a dedicated volunteer with the American Cancer Society for nearly 30 years, helping to raise awareness and funds for cancer research and patient support.

It’s Christmas 365 reflects Bobby’s love for the holiday season. Outside of work, Bobby likes spending time at Presque Isle State Park, watching live theater, getting lost in the drama of “Days of our Lives” and — of course — celebrating Christmas.

All the holidays

The holiday season is a time for joy, togetherness and celebration—no matter how you choose to observe it.

The site is inclusive of all holidays, recognizing that traditions come in many forms and are meaningful to people from all walks of life.

While the magic of Christmas is celebrated here, the site embraces Christmas as both a secular holiday cherished for its sense of wonder and community and as a sacred occasion for those who observe its religious significance.

This site also acknowledges the beauty of other holidays celebrated around this time, including Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice and New Year’s celebrations.

Here, everyone is welcome to share in the joy, nostalgia and warmth of the season year-round.
