As the cult classic celebrates 40 years, several members of “A Christmas Story” will reunite in Pittsburgh.
Six members of the cast will appear at Steel City Con, which is set for Dec. 8-10 at the Monroeville Convention Center.
Among cast members scheduled to appear are Peter Billingsley (Ralphie), Scott Schwartz (Flick), Zack Ward (Scut Farkus), Ian Petrella (Randy), Yano Anaya (Grover Dill) and R.D. Robb (Schwartz).
The 1983 movie was partially filmed in Cleveland. The site of the Parker house and other nearby homes have been part of the A Christmas Story House in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood, drawing thousands of visitors every year.
“A Christmas Story” is, of course, a classic holiday film capturing the nostalgic, humorous tale of young Ralphie Parker’s quest for the perfect Christmas gift—a Red Ryder BB gun. Set in the 1940s, Ralphie faces various comedic challenges, including his mother’s warning about shooting his eye out.
The movie runs 24 hours over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day on TBS.
In 2012, the movie was chosen for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
