- Dec. 7
- Menorah lighting at the City-County Building on Grant Street (5 p.m.)
- South Hills Lights Chanukah Festival and Car Menorah Parade, presented by the Chabad of South Hills. “Join Chabad and spread your Jewish Pride, holiday excitement, and Chanukah LIGHTS with a car parade that will leave from Chabad of the South Hills and trek across Mt. Lebanon, leading to the Annual South Hills Lights at 1801 Dormont Ave.”
- Chabad Jewish Center of Cranberry will host a menorah lighting, gelt drop and more at 5 p.m.
- Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh will host a Hanukkah Party as part of its “Hanukkah on the Second Floor” events. This event is for teens.
- Dec. 8
- World Pittsburgh is holding a Shabanukkah Fundraiser Party. The event, which runs from 4-7 p.m., will include several activities.
- Temple Ohav Shalom will host a menorah lighting at McCandless Crossing at 5:30 p.m.
- Dec. 9
- Chabad of South Hills latke cook-off for children
- A Queer Hannukah Social at JCC Squirrel Hill, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Join for a queer Hanukkah havdalah and social. Tickets are $10 to help cover the cost of the space and food, but organizers say they do not want the cost to hinder one’s ability to join, so they encourage people to pay what they can! “We’ll bring the latkes, you bring your best Hanukkah fit.”
- Dec. 10
- Congregation Beth Shalom’s Latkepalooza includes games, crafts, prizes, doughnuts and latkes. The annual event, hosted by the Joint Jewish Education Program, is $5 per person or $20 per family at the door. It is planned from 10 a.m. to noon.
- Squirrel Hill Chanukah Walk, from 2 to 4 p.m., will offer attendees a chance to shop locally, make cookies, write cards to Israeli soldiers and take part in crafts.
- Menorah lighting on the corner of Murray Avenue and Beacon Street in Pittsburgh will be held at 4 p.m.
- “Irena’s Vow” will be shown at Carnegie Mellon University’s McConomy Auditorium with doors opening at 2:30 p.m. Community members are invited to join Classrooms Without Borders, in partnership with The Collaboratory Against Hate and the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh, to watch the film.
- Dec. 11
- Chabad of South Hills will host a menorah lighting at the Washington County Lawn at 5 p.m. There will be latkes and doughnuts, Chanukah music and raffles All ages are welcome. RSVP is appreciated.
- Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh will host Mitzvah Day as part of its “Hanukkah on the Second Floor” events. This event is for teens.
- Dec. 12
- Chabad of Squirrel Hill will host its Menorah Car Parade from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. Community members participating are asked to gather in the JAA parking lot, 200 JHF Drive.
- Chabad of Squirrel Hill will host a menorah lighting at Schenley Plaza with live music, latkes, doughnuts and a juggling show. The event will be held from 5:45 to 8 p.m.
- Dec. 14
- “LIGHT! A Multifaith Celebration Through Song” will be held at the JCC Squirrel Hill from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
- Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh will host an Israeli Hanukkah Celebration as part of its “Hanukkah on the Second Floor” events. This event is for teens.
- Dec. 15
- Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh will host The Great Big Latke Fest as part of its “Hanukkah on the Second Floor” events. This event is for teens.

Hanukkah in 2025 will be observed from sundown Dec. 14 through Dec. 22.
