That’s it, Fort Pitt! The iconic tree at Point State Park will shine on Pittsburgh’s doorstep for one final holiday season.
Duquesne Light will end the more than 35-year tradition at the end of this holiday season.
The private utility company lit the tree in a private ceremony at Point State Park on Nov. 18.
The tree, of course, is wildly popular among holiday season photos of Pittsburgh.
Some kind of new display will replace the tree for the 2022 holiday season. But the company has yet to announce what that means.
