From Pittsburgh to Beaver, Greensburg and Erie, find a special holiday light up celebration near you.
These towns evoke a very Hallmark Channel holiday movie feeling. Check as many of these events — from small towns like Beaver and Carnegie to bigger cities like Pittsburgh and Erie, and everything in between.
And if you miss the actual light up celebration, you didn’t miss the lights! Stroll the streets of these business districts, grab a hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts and take in all of the sights and sounds.
Pittsburgh will kick off the holiday season with the annual Light Up Night event.
Events will include tree lightings, music, entertainment and the Holiday Market in Market Square. Plus, there will be gingerbread displays at the City-County Building.
The tree and rink at PPG Place will celebrate with a ceremony on Nov. 18. The event features the East End Kids, figure skaters and a ceremony with the American Cancer Society.
Beaver, Pennsylvania, hosts its annual Light-Up Festival, which includes a parade to welcome Santa, plus carriage rides, live entertainment and fireworks.

Snap a photo with Santa, sip hot cocoa, have breakfast with Santa the next morning, sing holiday favorites with the carolers, gather the family for a gingerbread house workshop, surprise and delight with a Bedtime Elf Visit for the kids.
Canonsburg’s event is recognized as one of Pennsylvania’s most “Hallmark movie-esque” locations. This two-day event includes a tree lighting ceremony, kids activities, gingerbread houses, train display, the Grinch, food truck court, parade.
The event will feature performances by local dancers and musicians, a handbell choir, food trucks, craft vendors, a live caricature artist and Santa Claus.
Santa will ride into Moon Park on a firetruck at 5:30 p.m. and light the tree at the Rotary Pavilion. Following the lighting of the tree, Santa will be available for photos and visits with children and families. Be sure to bring your letters for Santa to drop in his mailbox.
Stroll the luminaria-lined streets of Downtown Greensburg, shopping at shops of Greensburg and get into the Christmas Spirit! Visit Winter Wonderland and see Santa at the library; see the tree in the parklet, enjoy children’s activities and drop your letters to Santa in the mailbox; take a carriage ride, and many other activities.
Santa and holiday inflatables will be in East Main Parking lot from 1-3 p.m. Then, Santa will be taking pictures with pets at Quantum Spirits from 4-6 p.m. Other events include music and caroling.
